Wedding Planning

I’m glad wedding planning is only intended to be a once in a lifetime kinda thing.  This one has been enough for me.  Not to say that parts of it weren’t fun, its just a lot to take on.  Its been a fun process overall and you can really learn a lot about what you’re capable of.  The best thing I’ve learned from this experience is that looking at a chunk of “to do’s” gets you nowhere.  You have to set very small goals for each day or week and widdle away at each project.  It also helps to enlist friends and family as much as possible.

Here’s a glimpse of what the wedding/planning looks like:

After a year of searching and researching, we found our perfect venue at Wolfe Neck Farm in Freeport.

As soon as we had that, we set the date and sent out the cards.

Then in the middle of my first diet, we had our cake tasting- end of diet 1.  I’m very excited about the cake it will be something like this.  The bouquets of cupcakes will be gathered under our small cake and then they will be passed to all the tables.  We picked Salted Chocolate, Salted Carmel Coconut, Vanilla, and Chocolate.  MMM!

A few table decoration ideas.

I ultimately want the tables to look something like this.

Bridesmaids and Groomsmen attire.  Done and done!

Transportation.  Score!

Rehearsal dinner lobster bake.  Yes!

Meeting with Whitney of Emilie inc. to discuss photo details.  The power went out during the storm!  Ah, wedding albums by iPhone light.

A tip from Pinterest:  send a wedding invite to the White House and receive a lovely note in return.  It works!

An awesome drawing from Yehua, my bridesmaid on the far right.  Thanks YY! This depicted our outfits on the night of the bachelorette party.

We’ll release these sky lanterns at the end of the night, I can’t wait.

More to come as the day draws near!
